One of the most common issues are related to the TDI 2.5 engine. Considering that I almost nothing about engines, my general understanding is that a TDI 2.0 is the most reliable one, followed by 1.9 and finally 2.5. However, I'm very confused by the whole matter, and I would like to know what you think on the topic.

There is no such thing as NA AAZ. 1,9 NA engines have indeed longer (150mm) rods than turbo engines (144mm) Pistons are same 6mm shorter. All 1,9 diesels have oil squirters and stroke is same. Some later NA's have same crank as TDI. Logged.

For my diesels, both IDI and TDI, which I have re-ringed (never needed pistons), I would not idle the car much, but rather drive it fairly hard, and try to avoid extended times of lower power settings. I would consider a two pronged approach: 1. Review breakin instructions, and 2. compression check and leakdown check the engine on each cylinder.

Good afternoon everyone, I’ve got a 2002 VW golf tdi 1.9 alh engine code and she’s got a nasty smoke. when revving engine it smokes out from the engine and the tailpipe. It’s a darker whitish and smells absolutely terrible. Like pure diesel oil. When it happens it blows straight through my air vents and fills the car and right out the 2006 1.9L TDI complete engine for sale. I have a good running 1.9 liter TDI engine pulled from my 2006 Jetta with 78000K. My wife ran over something in the road and put a small crack in one of the engine block mounting positions. The insurance company replaced the entire engine and i was able to keep the original engine. The crack can be welded. NSX9WIj.
