Charging vehicle with a discharged vehicle battery. 1. Unlock the vehicle, if needed, using the integrated key, refer to page 38. 2. Secure the vehicle against rolling. 3. Connect either a Level 1 or Level 2 charging cable to the household socket or the port on the charging station. 4. 1) I start the car in the garage. 2) Wait 2-3 minutes. 3) Outside temp ~3C. 4) Turn on the heat, lowest climate control fan setting. 5) In a few seconds the engine fan turns on, then it tuns off and continues to do this every few seconds. Judging by the sound it makes, I am suspecting the engine fan runs at 100% for a few seconds, stops and
3) If the AH capacity is different than the original ones, you will have to get the capacity coded. 4) When you change the battery, you should register the battery change to reset the counters. 5) I am still having issues since my battery change with the steering angle sensor.
Many BMW dealers are selling the 105AH battery for approx $236 = $18 core charge. If you have a BMW CCA membership…then you can also get the discount (my dealer offers a 10% CCA discount). When I replaced the 105AH battery in my f06 650ix GC back in Jan/2023…I was out the door at $227.
The size of the Aux battery is insufficient to provide cranking current to the starter motor anyway. It only is there to keep systems alive when the alternator is not producing anything. Consider what happens to the systems when the Aux battery fails to keep the main computer happy. Lots of lights and warnings. I have searched for 3 whole days to find a replacement, and all available ones are from Europe. This will help with replacing the Aux battery part numbers: 61 21 7 567 385, 61217567385. 61 21 7 593 089, 61217593089. 61 21 7 635 788, 61217635788. Go to Bryce for all your BMW diagnostic needs! My 2011 128i had some electrical issues, causing the radio not to work and the speedometer, RPM, and gas gauge to suddenly drop and rise while driving. After a quick diagnostic test, he determined I needed a new battery and my entertainment computer system had to be recoded. otij.
