For Mages, taking at least a couple skills from your Specialization tends to be pretty important, because each of them has a Passive skill that lets you regenerate your Mana significantly faster. If you don't take anything from a Specialization, expect to be stuck with just staff attacks a lot more often.
Fair enough. I'm into it. I think some abilities would look and work better than others, and I feel as though I can just handwave it as the Inquisitor getting extra cross class training.
