It now has 185000 km on the clock and I have had only 2 problems: 1) Mass airflow meter went at about 149000 km and 2) Window wining mechanism at about the same time. Average fuel consumption of about 6.5 l/km over the entire life of the car.
The 164bhp 2005-2007 320d has a small number of turbo failures, but not a terrifyingly high amount. This was the weaker Mitsubishi turbo also used in the E46 320d which suffered from the same thing. The only issue with the 184 is that it can't be mapped without removing the ECU.
