If you want a main series Pokemon game then I would recommend emulating one of the DS games. They are just better than the current Switch titles in most ways while still maintaining the same gameplay. There's more quantity and more quality in the older titles.
BW and B2W2 are often considered some of the best, if not the best, games in the series and have amazing replayability. I remember replaying White 2 back to back 6 or so times around release because I loved the game that much. Oh thats right. Even better. Any Pokémon game is playable for a 7 year old, but Let’s Go Evee is great for kids. The Let’s Go games use Pokémon Go mechanics where you are catching wild Pokémon but not battling them. But you still battle trainers. Pokémon Snap is also a great option for little kids (and adults).

Cuish. • 1 min. ago. I've been playing Let's Go Pikachu for the past week or so. As a fan of the older games - especially Gen 1 through 3 - it's definitely nostalgic of those games. The only major difference however compared to the original games is that you don't battle wild Pokémon and has bit of a learning curve with regards to that. Sword and Shield are decent games, but far from the best. I haven't played BDSP yet, but considering they are remakes of what I consider the series low I doubt they are much better.
